Actually, most muslim countries allow women to drive, except countries like Saudi Arabia, which force women to wear the kind of veil that Ms. Freeman wants to freedom to wear here.

Acutally part of Saudi Arabia's circular logic on this point is as follows.

1. Women must wear veils b/c of Sharia
2. Veils make it more dangerous for women to drive a car because they can reduce peripheral vision.
3. However, we will not allow women to leave their homes w/out the veil.
4. Therefor women can't drive.

Egypt allows women to drive. And guess what, they are required to have a photo license...WITHOUT THE VEIL!!!!
