Pardon me for saying, but you seem to be more interested in grinding an axe against Canada's socialized medical system than you do in dicussing the facts of this outbreak. But that's just my impression, sitting here a half hour away from Toronto - I'm sure our media are all in on the conspiracy to cover up the truth too, right? Yeah, there have been mistakes and shortcomings in the system, but many of your accusations are without foundation.

You are entitled to your opinion, and you are partially right. I deplore Canada's socialized health care system, and their lack of action and concern at the expense of their own health care employees, lives and spreading this disease, in the name of economics and tourism, and not containing this epidemic in Toronto just validates one reason why.

You bet your state sponsored media, along with your state sponsored health care system is covering up the truth. You cannot fool your southern neighbors, who are on top of this in our Health Care System and free press.

My assertions are founded. As hard as it may be for you to swollow the truth, the facts are there if you examine them.

You are either ignorant of the Canadian media, or deliberately bending the truth. We have one state-sponsored media outlet, the CBC. We have several other privately owned radio/TV media corporations as well as a number of privately-owned newspapers and magazines. And the CBC, for that matter, regularly attacks the government and blows the lid off their attempted cover-ups.

All the shortcomings of our socialized health-care system and our public-health authorities have been reported in our media, believe it or not. In fact, almost all of the information, favorable or not twowards our health care system, about the Toronto SARS outbreaks that has appeared on FR has come from Canadian media.

The CDC doctor they flew back last weekend from Taiwan used protective gear which no doubt was the very best available and still became infected. Other doctors and nurses in china have used protective gear with sad results.
