"My personal reason was that, although I love Al Gore and I like many of his ideas”

Allow me to Finnish her sentence:
‘Such as the Internet. Anyone that can take credit for inventing the internet must have a great mind.’

Scientologists believe that a major cause of mankind's problems began 75 million years ago, when the planet Earth, then called "Teegeeach," was part of a confederation of 90 planets under the leadership of a tyrannical ruler named Xenu. Then, as now, the materials state, the chief problem was overpopulation.

Xenu, the documents state, decided to take radical measures to overcome the overpopulation problem. Beings were captured on Earth and on other planets and flown to at least 10 volcanoes on Earth.

The documents state that H-bombs far more powerful than any in existence today were dropped on these volcanoes, destroying the people but freeing their spirits -- called thetans -- which attached themselves to one another in clusters.

After the nuclear explosions, according to the documents, the thetans were trapped in a compound of frozen alcohol and glycol and, during a 36-day period, Xenu "implanted" in them the seeds of aberrant behavior for generations to come. When people die, these clusters attach to other humans and keep perpetuating themselves.

I dunno, but you might get the "laying on of hands" healing power that Travolta claims to have. Personally, I don't believe anyone can really do that, except Mr. Myogi.

Yep, You got it right, pretty much, about the, history of man... according to Scientologists. Pretty bizarre stuff.

My brother, MENSA guy and millionaire (or, at least, was) is a 30 yr vet of the org. Smart guy...(maybe too smart?)

Anyway, the Commission on Human Rights was very helpful to me during my fight with the public school that was attempting to Ritalinize my kid. They provided me lots of serious research and good advice with no obligation upon me. They really do care about the psyhciatric tyranny in law, and don't seem to be whacked at all: "absolutist".

I don't care much for the religious aspect of Scientology, but they are doing some good, important work.

In LA I listened to a Scientology demonstration outside their HQ on Sunset Blvd. The device to measure my "AURA" was a meter that measured skin conductivity (perspiration) by holding 2 tin cans connected to a meter. Touch the 2 cans together (as I did) and the meter goes off the scale. My reading was then "over"and I was asked to leave.

Evidently everyone on this thread has forgotten that this woman is a foul-mouthed, vulgar slut who publicly thanked her significant other on nationwide television (Emmy's) for giving her the "big one."

This woman is trash.

Many Scientologists who have left from the highest levels of Scientology have been in a room at Scientology's Sandcastle building in Clearwater, Florida for 5-7 hours per day for up to 15 years, holding two asparagus cans together, attached to a primitive lie detector, talking all day to dead space aliens.

My sister has been in this cult for decades. Fifteen years ago, at a family reunion at the beach, her husband cracked his tailbone riding a jet ski. I can tell you, the poor guy was in pain and never left their room for the rest of the week. She'd go in and give him a 'touch assist' - I watched one. She'd touch his forefinger, asked him 'can you feel this', he'd respond 'yes', and she'd move to his wrist and ask the question again. She did this about 10 times and the treatment was over.

Now I'm not a doctor, don't even play one on tv; but I understand my brother-in-law suffered for over a month until his tailbone healed on its own. Scientology is an expensive hoax.
