I believe he is being funding by someone on the pro-abortion side. The NAGS received such a uproar when they came out against trying Scaught for double-murder, because they didn't want Conner to be considered a human being...they have gone underground and decided to cut the issue off at the pass and simply defend him, getting him off on all murder charges, making the double-murder a non-issue.
