Democrats Question Whether Bush 'Hyped' Iraq Threat

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Top Senate Democrats on Sunday said they believed the Bush administration either exaggerated the threat posed by Iraq, or may have had faulty intelligence on its alleged weapons of mass destruction.

Joe Biden of Delaware, the senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the administration "hyped" Iraq's potential for developing nuclear arms and for using other weapons of mass destruction, but said he expected such weapons will be found.

Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, the Senate Intelligence Committee's senior Democrat, said he was "beginning to believe" that the intelligence the administration claimed to have on Iraq's weapons program before the U.S.-led war to oust Saddam Hussein was not as sound as he had been led to believe.

This is great. While people are finding billions in gold and cash, thousands of bodies in mass graves and the UN give a 14-0 vote on letting Britian and US agencies run the courntry for a year, the RATS think we did it all wrong.

Did he hype it? Lets change that question a little. Was Saddam Hussein a threat to innocent human beings? Yes and he had proven it a million times over. Did he have those chem and bio weapons? Are they there now? I could care less. We did the right thing.

Even if they find the chem and bio stuff (they have already found the labs and traces in the euphrates)...but lets say they find tons of stuff, it won't matter. They will attack the administration on something else.

This is what is funny; if they didn't have any bio weapons, then why do they have bio labs? If they didn't have any chemicals, then why are they getting traces of mustard, etc. in the Euphrates. Most of these idiots are lawyers. They know the evidence points to guilt, but they continue to act like the American public is a bunch of idiots who can't connect the dots.

They got their asses handed to them during the last election, and they are gonna get bit agin on 04. Whether we find 20 tons of chem and bio makes no difference.

The Democrats would wait for the nuclear explosion to happen before believing that we should do something. It is better to act on credible threats than on absolute devastation.

Is it "hype" to find that worst-case scenarios didn't come to be, while "likely" scenarios still remain true? I don't think so.

I believed Bush on this. Here is what happen during the so called inspections what the UN was gave Sadam a lot time to ship them out or move them elsewhere (Syria, probaly in the hands of Al Qeda).
