So they say, but as a wise person once said: "Never mind what they say, watch what they do" and what they did, was raise the alert level to high.
Obviously it wouldn't be "just" based on some e-mails, but the article specifically said that the e-mails were a contributing factor:
"The Bush administration raised the domestic threat level to orange, or "high," today, a decision made in part because of a series of threatening messages found on the Internet, ABCNEWS has learned. "

Never mind what they say, watch what they do If they had raised the alert level to red, I'd be more concerned. A one-stage upgrade, considering the recent overseas attacks, is a reasonable precaution, but a two-stage upgrade would have caught my attention.
