Here in Florida, we take our orange status very seriously Why is it that they sell only California Oranges at my supermarket and not Florida Oranges?

Why is it that they sell only California Oranges at my supermarket and not Florida Oranges?Because Tropicana gets all the commercially grown oranges around here. LOL--get your own tree! Better yet---my trees are loaded...bring a bushel basket or three.

If you must know, California produces FAR more Citrus than Florida. Also, the vast majority of Florida Oranges go into production - juices etc. since FL OJ is a marketing tag that has worked since the 60s. In most places across the country where domestic citrus is found in produce bins it is CA Oranges that you will be buying. Most of the Juices and naturally flavored Orange stuff have FL roots.

You know, living in FL, I've often wondered about those darn California oranges. They taste like nothing but pith. Why do they sell them here? Hmmmmm a good question.
Must be communists in charge of buying for the Publix chain. LOL
