Jokes aside, every time this goes up the meter runs. Higher alert level means OT for public safety personnel, decreased attention on other work, and so on. I don't remember the numbers, but every time the threat level gets bumped up it means MAJOR $$$$$$$$.

So, should I feel less safe or more safe than I did an hour ago?

Here in Florida, we take our orange status very seriously--especially with Tropicana world HQ just down the road.
I just printed that pic and posted it on the refrigerator. Good one!

I hope nothing happens. And if it doesn't, I might start suspecting "chatter" on purpouse, drain teh coffers. If you recall, way back, by OBL's guestimates, were all the enemy because we pay taxes and hence fund Washington. Deception is one tactic to use on your enemy. The maggots may be doing this chatter thing here and there to cost us all.

How on earth could anyone logically vote on that? What would I know to vote intelligently regarding the level?

BREAKING NEWS U.S. to raise terror threat level to "high" from "elevated" in wake of higher than expected unemployment and a weakening economy.
