"Oh by the way which one's Pink?"

Uh, that would be Roger. as much as I admire the virtuosity of David Gimore, Rick Wright and Nick Mason, Pink Floyd ceased to exist when the stubborn, bullheaded Roger Waters refused to participate.

It just ain't the same without him.

Gilmore's solo efforts have been very good though. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Waters'.

Overall, I would concur, given that Waters' "Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking" and "Amused to Death" were hit-and-miss at best, but Waters' "Radio K.A.O.S." stands as his best concept work since Pink Floyd's "Animals" in my book.

I've always enjoyed Gilmour's stuff as well, though I was incredibly disappointed that he chose to keep Pink Floyd going after Waters left. Every PF album since Waters' departure has been nothing more than a beefed-up Gilmour solo album. :(

All that said, I commend Gilmour's generous contributions to those less fortunate than himself. He's a good soul, all told.

And Roger felt that the band ended after Dark Side of the Moon. Certainly the Wall was a personal work and the Final Cut was a solo album with the rest of the band providing studio work.

Roger even doesn't look as kindly on the 1960s Pink Floyd jams (he admits that they couldn't play as well then and that long jams were an easy way to fill).

Everybody talks about Syd Barrett being the guy that went nuts, but if you ask me, Roger Waters is the one that went off the deep end at some point. He got swallowed up by his crybaby existentialist funk. He had taken the band's themes to the point of every song being about his messed up childhood, the evils of capitalism, and other such nonsense.

"Amused to Death" is a great album. Give it a chance. It's a lot like "The Final Cut." Plus, there's better production and Jeff Beck.
