"We are going to be historically correct," he said. "We have no apologies for who these people are and we are a proud part of the effort to lay them to rest. If somebody doesn't like it, that's just tough."Bump for brave men who fought for their homes and in what they believed

According to the article the funeral wil be April 17th? Is this next year or is the April date a typo.

You're welcome. I may also try to attend.

I hate to say it, but get ready for the counter-protest march. The submarine's being Confederate is all they care about. They don't care about the souls lost.

I hate to say it, but get ready for the counter-protest march.Well, I guess we should try to make it 20,000 there to honor them. All my ancestors in that war wore the blue suit, but it makes no difference. Its long past time to take what belongs to us back and the hell with the lefty losers. Our honeymoon was in Charleston in April 1980; its a beautiful place in April.

I was born in Charleston and raised there. I had family on both sides of the war, some buried in that graveyard. I will be there to honor those who lost their lives...on both sides. They were all Americans.
Oh but rest assured that there is no level too low for the Demorats not to sink to. The Wellstone funeral should show us that.....

The SC State Archeologist spoke at our SCV meeting a couple of months ago. He was planning on having the crewmen lay in state in the SC State House Rotunda with the 2nd national flag on the coffins.

Hats off to you for posting this, I will try and make it 10,005 (or is it 10,015 now!)
These men were some of the bravest of the brave, no matter what the uniform they wore. They deserve all the honor we can grant them, for they were heros all.
Of course I'm sure that the NAACP and most Democrats will decry this event as racist, but that will only show how little they understand or have learned from history.
