As a tourist, you will be guided away from this reality. Government officials meet all visitors at the airport, then take them in government-owned, air-conditioned taxis to elegant, government-owned, Spanish-era hotels in Old Havana.

The Spielberg, Stone, Asner tour.

The way we live now, all of Cuba is a prison. We do not live like human beings here. None of us are free.

The reality.

What the hell happened to Danny Glover's brain to allow him to endorse this prison ?

When Cuba becomes free I want the privilege of paying one dollar to whack Castros corpse which will be hung in a town square like a pinata (sp?).

Perhaps Cuba is poor for the same reason Russians were poor: because free enterprise is banned.

When I read this line I knew this couldn't be from one of our liberal news outlets. I checked, it wasn't, it's from an Australian paper, a country that supported America in our war on terrorism.

The guy is 76 years old. I give it two more years. The clock is ticking.

"The real reason?" says Brian Alexander. "Castro mismanages the economy. He's only ever managed to make enough to feed people. The idea that the US is to blame for Cuba's problems is just stupid. Our foundation doesn't support the embargo. We think US companies could benefit if it was lifted. Cubans would also benefit, obviously. But the embargo isn't why Cuba is poor."

Just how could US companies benefit? What would Cuba use for money? I doubt they could sell us enough cigars to secure adequate cash. We don't want their sugar.

What US company would be insane enought to invest there, risking government confiscation? Many European investors have been flim-flammed and won't repeat the same mistakes.

After reading the details of the big arrest where the most trusted in the movement were SS spies, I suspect this guy is the biggest informer of all.

Castro likely uses him to draw in the unsuspecting suckers to the sugar coated spider's web.

Thanks for the ping and the post.

Public transport is cheap but the service is abysmal.

Something our home grown Castro-lovers are pushing on us. Of course they'd like the whole kit and kaboodle (for the children) but being hearded about like Castro's workers, is something for brain-dead Americans to consider.
