A bunch over overly self-important, posturing and preening gas-bags, aren't they?

I don't agree with Chaffee, mind you. Just stating the facts. He like his dad is all about getting relected.

How about Hollings amendment to strike all of the tax cuts? Had to chuckle about that one. Will be good to see him retired next year.

I wonder if this is the first step in the elimination of corporate taxes? Seems like a logical first step.

Temporary blah, blah, blah...This is BS. The GOP controls the House, Senate and the White House. Show some balls. Eliminate the federal income tax and replace it with a national sales tax or consumption tax. Fire the IRS!

1. Looks like they had to include some tax hikes and spending increases to get the elimination of the double dividen tax.

2. Senate and House version don't match. Will have to go to conference to bring the two together. I suppose this will create another opportunity for the Dems and the RINOS to water this down and/or put more of their tax and spending increases into the bill.

Imagine how much money we'd save by sending the entire IRS to early retirement! Still have to pay their pensions and unemployment bennies, but what the heck!

WASHINGTON - The Senate voted Thursday to suspend taxes on stock dividends for three years, restoring the centerpiece of President Bush's economic plan in a package of tax cuts that is still half the size he wanted.

"It would encourage investment, it would encourage jobs, it would encourage growth," Sen. Don Nickles, R-Okla., said just before Vice President Dick Cheney cast the tie-breaking ballot in the 51-50 vote to abolish dividend taxes in 2004, 2005 and 2006

Thanks for clearing that up. I wonder what the heck Rick Fulbaum (?) was referring to.

BTW, I caught O'Reilly's promo in which he announced a fox exclusive -- they managed to get a copy of Hillary's college thesis, so stay tuned.

Which means that McCain has become more liberal than even Collins and Don Nelson

No, he is just anti-Bush.

More than 28% because you probably also pay taxes on dividends and possibly corporate income tax as well. Replace the income tax with a national sales tax and you would see a boom in this economy the world has never witnessed before. Companies and individuals who had previously left America would return and people from all over the world would beg to move here and become a part of the greatest economy in existence.
