A good friend of mine flies for United Airlines based out of SFO and he has told me that she and one or two others have boarded flights armed or traveling with armed personnel, usually Capitol Hill Police.

Can you cite proof for this? I've heard about the "honorary US Marshal" thing for twenty years, but I've never seen a shred of evidence such a thing exists.
