just don't because of expense. And because of structural issues. We have so much clay content in our soil...it expands and contracts so much...most everyone with a basement has major problems...with water seepage, and other issues. Almost impossible to keep one from cracking up bad. During the hot summer...the clay drys out and contracts...and then in cool wet weather...it expands and that constant expansion and contraction reaks havoc on basements and slab foundations.

I havn't been able to distinguish the "hook" on a lot of these radar images that the weather man explains as being clearly visible. Is that the hook to the SW of the large red area?

BTW, here's an image I found that shows a dramatic example of a hook echo:

Does anyone have that URL to www.spc.noaa.gov or wherever it was that showed the current warnings? My sister is in Cincinnati, they had a severe thunderstorm warning earlier, with tornado warnings for Indiana just west of them. I'd like to check (but don't want to call her in case she's hunkered down in the basement).

Thanks.

Its the far left part of the storm, that kind of hooks down. That black and white example you posted has got to be one of the wierdest examples ive seem, definately a hook eco.
