In an interview with the French magazine L'Equipe on Saturday, Richard Williams blasted the tennis world for racism and claimed no one will ever defeat his daughters, Serena and Venus.
Williams addressed critics who say that his daughters appearing in every final is making tennis boring.
"So women's tennis is getting boring. And you know why? Because two lovely black women dominate it. They're better than the white girls, and that's intolerable. It's downgrading, lamentable," Williams said.
Williams said his daughters were the victims of racist prejudice from within the tennis world.
"They're disturbed by our being there. They've tried everything they could to tame us, to recuperate (sic) us and, when they couldn't, they said I was a madman."
Williams also said he will never salute the flag because of racism in America.
"It has no meaning for me," he said.
Williams added that his daughters were dominating the game because they had stolen the best shots from their rivals.
"The whites have always said that black people were robbers. My daughters are robbers. They're going to rob you of your best shot and make it our best shot. My daughters are the best two robbers in the world."

Everyone tune in to O'Reilly tonight and see if he tries to shame Jesse Jackson into denouncing this guy.

Let Brett Favre's dad or any other father of a white athlete even question the liberal dogmas and etiquette of race today and then see what the reaction would be. Hah this thread would have zoomed to 1000 replies in ten minutes 90 percent of them being a zombified reaction of horror and shock and of course condemnation using all the correct language better suited to liberal pants wetters, nine percent would have been of the no big deal variety and the last one percent would be making note that he was right (but of course in the spirit of freedom they would be replaced with the "this post deleted")

He probably is pissed because he hasn't received his 40 acres and a mule reparations yet. Poor baby.
And the beat goes on:
Poor me, Poor me
don't you whiteys see?
that my daughters rule,
while I, an aging fool
is ignored by the press,
so, I have to create this racist mess

I love the Williams sisters. I love the way that they care for each other off the court but are competative when playing a sister. The reason why it is duller when they play against each other (IMO) is because they know each other soooo well, that they can guess the next move. It becomes luck not skill.

If dad had his way, Serena, Venus would quit for 2 years
Associated Press
May 6, 2003
PARIS -- The father of Serena and Venus Williams believes his daughters could take a two-year break from competitive tennis and easily top the rankings when they return.
"I would like them to stop playing today, for Serena to study and for Venus to launch herself into business," Richard Williams was quoted as saying in the French sports daily L'Equipe's magazine.
The elder Williams said he is unimpressed with the level of competition on the women's circuit and in the junior ranks.
"If I was in their place, I would take a break for one or two years," Williams said. "I would do some sailing, some ice skating, and I would come back unranked, just so I could become No. 1 within five or six months."
Top-ranked Serena Williams has won the past four Grand Slam tournaments: the French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open last year, and the Australian Open in January. She has lost just two matches -- against Justine Henin-Hardenne and Kim Clijsters -- since November.
Venus Williams, ranked No. 3, won her fourth career Grand Slam at Wimbledon two years ago.
Richard Williams was quoted as saying he believes racism is rife in women's tennis, and within the Women's Tennis Association.
"I asked the WTA, 'Does racism still exist with you?'," he said in the interview. "They told me no. They're taking me for an idiot."
Williams also said he will never salute the flag because of racism in America. "It has no meaning for me," he said.

Do you have any proof that Serena and Venus Williams agree with Richard Williams' statements? If so, let's see it. A link will do.

However I get trouble from my five year old when she watches these ladies because she cannot understand why she can't have beads in her hair.
I try to tell her that Mommy can't afford as many beads as she needs for her thigh length blonde curls and whenever she turned her head they would wap her in the face anyway.

I was just fooling around....I'm not even a race fan admittedly...though I did know that was Kyle Petty.
The girl's daddy seems a bit unbabalanced. With their earnings and fame, I'd try to at least act a little happier and gracious.

I see you've found your opening to attack Serena and Venus Williams for the statements of their father.

Well they are adults and if they wanted they could tell him to shut up and they could inform us they he is in fact insane and does not speak for them.Or they can continue to act like adults and not even address the issue. There's no need for the two of them to address such stupid comments. They're a class act.
