I haven't seen or heard the President criticize or otherwise express any reservations about Rumsfeld's actions. So, please provide evidence that such a rift exists between both men, who I admire.

We don't have to choose between Bush and Rumsfeld. Thank God we have both of them and may that continue to be the case through 2008!
This is an administratyion far too competent to need advice from Fleming, Raimondo or any other neo-isolationist (Fleming) or neo-McGovernite (Justine) or anti-anti-communist (both of them since Fleming is particularly disdainful of Joe McCarthy for pinning the tail on Fleming's dad's pals) pantywaist dilletantes.
