He's gotta blame the neo-cons for everything, I suppose.

Did Tom Fleming, the Francophile and Serbophile novel and poetry reader who likes to avoid two-way discussions of Ronaldus Maximus lest Tom completely humiliate himself, also mention that Donald Rumsfeld, the finest Secretary of Defense in the history of the department, used to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Rockford Institute so long ago that it was still a pro-American and conservative group? America wants to know!

EWWW, if being in favor of defending ourselves against those who started this war makes one a neo-con pitbull, then I guess I am one. If you agree with Justin, I'd suggest you should move to France.

Rummy GO? That is the dumbest thing I have seen. I guess you would have fired Generals Washington and Patton. Oh yeah, I forgot, you would have fired Marshall too. I am not saying the Rumsfield is as good as the guys I have mentioned, but like them, he has been involved in a very successful war.

We don't have to choose between Bush and Rumsfeld. Thank God we have both of them and may that continue to be the case through 2008!

This is an administratyion far too competent to need advice from Fleming, Raimondo or any other neo-isolationist (Fleming) or neo-McGovernite (Justine) or anti-anti-communist (both of them since Fleming is particularly disdainful of Joe McCarthy for pinning the tail on Fleming's dad's pals) pantywaist dilletantes.

After September 11th, 2001, You're either with U.S. or against U.S.!!!! We suffered an attack that day that was more horrific than December 7th, 1941!!!! Socialistic Terrorists are now our targets for destruction!!!! Socialists Nations or entities, that support terrorist states or terrorist entities are not our friends(and will not be trusted), and should be dealt with according to each situation that warrants the appropriate response!!!!

As to Francophilia peace and literature maven Tom Fleming and his entirely unwarranted crack about Rumsfeld whom Fleming resents for practicing patriotism brilliantly and militantly, it may be said that Fleming once had an idea and that it went straight to his head where it died in solitary confinement. ANYONE who consorts with the neo-McGovernite likes of Justine has no claim on patriotism. Also note Fleming's knee-jerk attack on Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle who commnit the unpardonable sin of being Jewish. The very idea of Fleming of all people attacking Rumsfeld for disloyalty to Bush when Fleming did not even VOTE for Bush and has indicated his intention NOT to do so in 2004 is hilarious.

Don't believe me. Check for yourself his hilariously misnamed column "Hard Right" on the chronicles.com website. He is hard to dress up and impossible to take out, at least in polite company. He is also selling Dixie Chicks albums on his website, no doubt out of admiration for Dubya. What a maroon!

You sure sound like an Ivy League Libertarian...

A serious libertarian would demand that before any foreign adventure, the paper shufflers in the trillion dollar central intelligence resign, and the right to keep and bare arms is restored to the people.

An Ivy League Lifestyle Libertarian would just go through contortions to rationalize the actions of the current ruling elite.

Rummy- Princeton
Wolfowitz- taught at Yale
Richard Perle- Princeton
Ashcroft- Yale
Bush- Yale and Harvard
Kristol- Harvard
Token 'Far Right' Candidate, Alan Keyes- Harvard
David Frum- Yale
George Will- Post Grad Princeton
Krauthammer- Post Grad Harvard
Larry Kaplan (New Republic Wilsonian Hawk) Columbia
Lieberman- Yale

"While a declaration of war is ideal, conservatives know their history. Accordingly, they know that military action between the United States and foreign powers have been undeclared since John Adams and the Quasi-War with France"

Does that make it 'right?'

"Secondly, the case was made to the American public"

Polling data suggests that half the country believe Saddam had something to do with 9/11. Where did they get that factually dubious idea?

"Murdered American innocents are the unacceptable result of passivity and petty moralizing" and gun control and centralized government and military adventures.

Ivy League, indeed.

You posted I counted 4 different thoughts, so I am going to pick one, if you want to take the conversation someplace else, permission granted.

I can't tell if you actually read the Fleming piece I posted, so lets be clear, it was my addition to offer that a worthy goal for patriotic conservatives would be to see Bush drop Rummy.

Kemp, the Hill, and the American Spectator all seem to conclude that not only was Newt taking a shot at Powell, but he was making a defacto attack on Bush, furthermore, Rummy approved the speech.

Bush has a reputation for running a tight ship. This act of insubordination requires Rummy to be dissmissed, or he can retire due to health reasons.

Your comments on Fleming are interesting and I would like to hear more. Can't be any worse than that phony Bill Bennett, I suspect, but you peaked my interest.
