Thank you all for your kind comments about my family's service. It is a tradition that goes back generations and will no doubt continue with the new generation. We have American Revolution, Civil War and WWII veterans in our background. I don't suppose it would even occur to us NOT to serve our country. We are blessed, lucky, and grateful to live in the best country on earth.

I too, have a stellar cast of warriors in my family too! One grandfather also was in the "Boxer Rebellion" late in the 19th century, and in the "Spanish-American War". However, he had retired by WW1. Both of my grandmothers had parents who came from S.France(Basque region), and Germany.

One of my ggrandfathers was in the French military in the mid or, late 19th century, so he was a military man too, although from a foreign country. He was either MIA or KIA, though I don't know what war it was.
