Too bad McVeigh was executed so soon. He might have had a lot to say eventually. Knowing that he had ties to terrorists from Iraq might have given the victims' families more in the long run than the "closure" his execution supposedly gave them.

Isn't Nichols still in prison? Is anyone pressing him for answers?

If any of this is true, I doubt the FBI would be interested in a serious investigation.

My understanding is that both the Federal judge (Maitsch?) and McVeigh's own
original attorney (Stephen Jones of Enid, OK) thought that McVeigh must have
been part of a larger conspiracy.

I keep an open mind about all this...maybe there was or wasn't a big conspiracy.
But I think Judge Maitsch even opined that McVeigh, in his relation of his part in the crime
never satisfactorily explained how he knew how to build the truck bomb (so it
would detonate and/or be effective) or was able to put together such a large device
by himself (or with Nichols).

I hope that Dubya gets re-elected in 2004...I feel that a sustained sane administration
of the FBI/Dept. Justice is about the only prayer of this ever being fully proved
or dis-proved.

There is a good reason for that, the gov knows as time goes on more info will emerge re McVeig's middle eastern conection. The initial gov coverup dictated the direction of investigative events afterwards because there are still gov officials employed that were complicite in the coverup. The question of the gov's ability to protect this country was at stake. Obviously, the Clinton Admin was too enept to deal with terrorism on this land. The Bush Admin continues the coverup of the OKC bombing for two reasons(my take): first the whole country would loose faith in the US gov and would demand accountablility of some very high powered gov officials. Second, the Clintons own some 1,000 FBI files that most certainly contains info that could ruin some very high powered peolpe in the DC crowd. The way the Republicans danced to Bill Clinton's toon is more than enough proof that he knew something about them they didn't want to get out. Craig Livingstone has never been arrested for taking the FBI files and he was initially a bouncer in an Arkansas bar before Hillary hired him to run her security team. There is also undisputed testimony from OKC fire department personnel that they were called to respond prior to any explosions and U of OK college students who at the time of the bombing were monitoring a sizemagraph that indicated three semi-simultanious explossions. Two ( I don't recall their names but one was a Bird Colonel) US Army demolition experts have testified that a single bionary nitrate bomb placed where the truck was parked could/would not have caused that extent of damage to the Alfred Murrah Building. Another Clinton gov Coverup involving dead Americans?? I think so.

I agree that his early execution was unfortunate. However, it appears as though Nicholas would know more of al Queda/Iraq's involvement. McVeigh was just a stooge probably unaware of all those behind him. Though it is true that the published writing from him is replete with references to Iraq.
