but no president or first lady since Ford's day has been a regular smoker." USA Weekend, Jun. 3, '01 Laura Bush was a heavy smoker when whe met George. An amusing story of her visiting at the Bush's vacation home, I read just a couple of months ago.
Seems that George's grandmother (paternal) was asking Laura why she did not join the others with boating, fishing or other such physical activities.
Laura quietly answered that she enjoyed smoking, reading and contemplating life. LOL
