Relax a little. GWB spouts a lot of very political-comforting rhetoric when he has the chance, making the soccer moms feel good.

He KNOWS, as do you and I, that this will not see the light of day in the House. And he KNOWS, as do you and I, that the 'assault weapons' renewal will NEVER emerge from the House.

So let the Senate do what they do best: act like pompous fools.

While you and GWB may "KNOW" these immutable truths, I have less faith in politicians than you seem to. I HOPE he doesn't plan our betrayal, but as I've said before, hope is the last refuge of the damned. We've been complacent for far too long as our elected representatives spat on us and upon the constitution. It's long past time we reminded them they work for us and hold office only at our sufferance.

If GWB betrays his base and his oath to defend the constitution, he deserves nothing but ridicule and censure. Soccer moms be damned, they and their left leaning little lambies have been pandered too for too long and have been accorded importance far beyond reason. It's not the "sucker" moms who put GW into office, it's us, conservative, gun owning, hard working, average Joes who are tired of being treated like serfs.

If President Bush forgets this ugly little truth, he deserves nothing less than to find himself bounced out of the White House. We've had enough "representation" by men who thought nothing of a lie if it forwards their agenda.

And don't give me this nonsense about how bad things will be under a demonic-rat president, should that occur and the socialists ramp up the antigun attack, it's little worse than what happening under the rule of the current administration IF GWB renews the 'assault weapons' ban.

I would dearly love to vote for GWB in the next election, I plan to do that very thing if he proves to be a man who takes his oath as President seriously and defends the constitution. Should he prove to be an oathbreatker, he gets nothing from me beyond contempt.

"GWB spouts a lot of very political-comforting rhetoric when he has the chance, making the soccer moms feel good."

Also giving Commielib sh**birds like Swinestein an opportunity to advance their anti-gun agenda that much more. Remember the article just a week or so ago about how happy she and Chucky Schumer were about Bush's apparent support of an AWB extension? They're now thinking that if Bush is going to give them an inch, they'll push for the proverbial mile. Bush is making their job that much easier.

Of course, I and many other good FReepin' supporters of the RKBA have tried to explain this over and over again, only to be drowned out by the shouts of the Bush Kool-Aid crowd. So why should anyone listen now? Skeet/IPSC/blackpowder shooters will not believe that both parties are harmful to their/our RKBA until the jack-booted thugs come for their trap and race guns. By then, it'll be far too late.

All gun owners need to stand together to tell not only their Congresscritters, but Bush as well, to keep their grubby mitts off our RKBA. That means not only not giving the anti-gun Commielibs any room to push for more restrictions, but making every effort to roll back the thousands of unconstitutional laws already on the books.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
