As a side note, while they were corresponding via the internet, she was attempting to learn English. Then after her arrival she continued taking English classes as well as enrolling in college......She has almost finished her degree and is majoring in math. She also was a classical trained pianist too.......
Until she arrived here she had never before driven a car because nobody in her family could ever afford to buy one.........
Lastly, she is a hardcore conservative and really gets animated when talking about liberals and their policies......
I’ve worked with three Air Force guys who had married Russians. I had a negative opinion when I first met each and learned of this. Then after I met each of their wives...I changed my mind on this topic. Each wife was tall, attractive, “leggy”, and very intelligent. They dress up whenever leaving the house and actually try to present themselves even if its just dropping the husband off at the office. The guys readily admitted that the Russian wives were conservative in nature and preferred guys who weren’t party-types or heavy drinkers.
I can walk into the base commissary on any Saturday and find at least two or three Russian wives now of Air Forces guys...must be at least twenty to thirty on base now. I also know of one case where a guy married a 19-year old Russian who was very serious into getting the green card immediately...which he delayed. After seven months of delaying her...she suddenly packs up one day and leaves. There are some cases of “green card fame”...but few. The key factor I noticed was that most of these guys married Russian women who were 30 or older.
I married a Russian women. It was, by far, hands down, no questions asked, the best thing I ever did. She has the same traditional family values I have, which is rare these days. Five kids later, not a moment of regret.
Make sure you remind her of how things were for her before she came here to marry you. She may have to re-assimilate herself in the next few years.
