The article doesn't say the mother has been located yet. Maybe he killed her, too.

We must bring back the chair for scum like this!

Hope the creep gets what he deserves from his fellow prison inmates. I understand the frustration that drives your sentiment here, but if we think about it, I bet we all hope he gets what he deserves (in this life) from a duly constituted judge and jury.
If justice doesn't prevail in the courts, I believe that this sorry shipwreck of a human being still has a date with The Judge coming. No technicality will save him there.
Still, the brutality of this crime is shocking. In a world full of bestial monstrosities, this one stands out, doesn't it?

"This is a result of the men being taught that women are theirs for the taking"
Let me tell you how this comes about as I used to have a lot of anger in me too.
At some point in his life he was subjected to a situation that was out of his control. He was pushed and pushed and pushed until you either break down or break out. If you break out, it leaves you with a deep rage. That rage is then triggered by seemingly innocuous things. People who have not had this experience cannot understand it but believe me the rage is real and when it is triggered, uncontrollable. It is usually the result of a buildup of things going wrong that are absorbed without rage until the buildup explodes ie the last straw. When he recovered, he knew what he had done and believe me he regretted it. That is evidenced by him turning himself in.
I have come to terms with mine and resolved it.
The interesting thing I found along the way was the when the rage was triggered, there were two signals racing to the brain, one to explode and one to stop. The stop signal seldom made it in time, until I discovered that calcium supplements reversed the order of arrival.
If you know someone with this issue you might suggest it to them. It is not a cure but sure helps until other issues can be resolved.

Congratulations on helping yourself, Oldcomputerguy! It is good that you found something to help.
But, I think you missed my point. If unmarried men AND women would avoid sexual situations, then they would not have this kind of mess. (Women can have the same kind of rage, too, in my opinion.) Frustration at being caught in this kind of situation lasts all a person's life. I was tempted but I didn't want the consequences. That is why I have stayed out of trouble. Forgive me if I sound like I am boasting but I am happy I didn't yield. I don't have to worry where the kid's meals are coming from, clothes, schools, who is s/he out with, etc, etc.

"He said he was very angry, said Capt. James Myers, head of the detective bureau. Were trying to find out why.
Memo to Capt. Myers:
Do NOT TRY TO FIND OUT *WHY* HE WAS ANGRY. Finding out "why" is not required or important and is a complete waste of time.

What could that baby have done to deserve this? The baby had done NOTHING! This evil man was angry at the child's mother, apparently whom he had never married. Maybe he didn't even consider the child as his own. He was just mad at the woman and she wasn't there, so he took it out on the child.
I don't understand why on earth this woman would leave her son with this man, natural father or no, if he'd been physically abusive to her in the past!

So what your trying to say is that the baby deserved it just because the mommie was out partying??That's a load of crap They both dont deserve to be parents.

I agree woman can have this rage too but more often break down than break out I believe.
Hey if it worked for you fine but don't expect that view to be anything but a minority position. Abstinence is a pipe dream propagated by an idealistic personality that has no
chance of ever being an accepted reality. Hormones are to strong for that to ever happen.

Robert wasn’t a monster when I knew him. Tanya wasn’t a partying mother either. Robert was actually a gentle guy and loved his son. I don’t know what happened to him that night. Even though what he did was wrong and completely insane. I still pray for him and hope God forgives him. As for Justin, the kid was beautiful and I know he is in heaven missing all of us. Instead of typing all the things you believe maybe you should type about what really happened that night. A child was murdered and all the lies and made up stories won’t bring him back. Maybe instead of insulting the mother you could pray for her. She did lose a son.
