"In the end, I think, the difference between the two views of the war (that of America and Israel versus that of the rest of the world) boils down to a single..."

I wonder if the wanker that wrote this tripe is married to a "Palastinian"...

Nope... this is not the way the world sees us.

This is the way we are viewed by Socialist university intellectuals that were already anti-U.S. prior to the war and would still feel the same if we hadn't fought it.

Given the author of this article, any one of us here could have predicted exactly what it would say and even written it for him given the anti-American formula du jour.

People can and do twist reality to fit their vision...Charles Limburg made a total ass of himself in opposing WW2....Have you been studying under him?

I thought this would be an interseting(sic) article, and it started that way.

Me too...but then I realized how astonishingly sophomoric it is and I just stopped....

Dwight is from the University of California. What are the odds that it could be Berkely?

Bullshit. There are too many errors in this to constitute the way others see us.

Isn't "Veterans for Peace" another of those far-left organizations, whose members claim status as veterans of the US armed forces because they think that such claims give them credibility they don't otherwise have? Sorry, I'm just not impressed. Not by the organization, not by the article.

What would happen if America ever had to face a real army?

Grade: F, for plagiarizing from Hackworth. Although I suppose that every scoundrel needs a parrot perched on his shoulder...

"Brits and Americans killed themselves and each other in a rash of "friendly fire" incidents."

Yes, unfortunately, we did. Happens in every war. Millions of people die in car accidents, too. Does that mean no one should use them for transportation?

"America's "smart weapons" proved not to be so smart, and instead caused horrifying destruction in marketplaces, buses, maternity wards, and civilian neighborhoods."

Really? Prove it. My understanding is the Saddamites ran around collecting and hiding all the missile parts from the marketplace explosions. Could it be they had "made in France" tags rather than "made in USA?" Again, unfortunately, there will always be civilian deaths in a war. Those numbers will always be increased when morons like Saddam fight from civilian areas. Our soldiers were just supposed to die instead of defend themselves? We actually did a VERY GOOD job minimizing civilian causualties.

"The Tomahawk missile system had to be taken offline not because it was missing its targets but because it was missing the entire country of Iraq(!) and instead landing in Saudi, Jordanian, and Syrian territories."

No such thing as perfection in man-made items. Only a moron would expect that.

"The quick advances and welcoming crowds predicted by the Rumsfield cabal did not materialize, and a panicked American military had to call for reinforcements of 120,000 new troops after only a few days of fighting."

Wrong again. The welcoming crowds were just being cautious for fear that Saddam wasn't really gone. The extra troops were not due to panic, but to continue into all the places we bypassed on our rush to Baghdad, and to replace the invading forces.

"More than one European commentator took advantage of America's hubris to state that the only "shock" in this war was how badly it was waged and how inured to human suffering the American people seem to have become."

Three weeks to topple a regime--I don't call that badly waged. What European country has ever done ANYTHING in 3 weeks? Europeans are the ones who are inured(not really, you just didn't care as long as you were making money off them) to human suffering--you are the ones who wanted Saddam to stay in power to torture, maim and murder his own citizens. Why are you defending a mass murderer who has DELIBERATELY killed over 1 1/2 million people over a 30 year period as opposed to the 500 civilians ACCIDENTALLY killed in this war?

I could go on, but I couldn't stomach reading any more lying propoganda. There are none so blind as those that will not see.

What would happen if America ever had to face a real army??....>>>>>

Gee, the media over there is WORSE than ours. Please spread the word that the American military was vitorious in BOTH
WWI & WWII.

Others say that Americans are famous for their lack of knowledge about the world and their low level of education, and that their support comes mainly from not having suffered themselves the tragedy of war on their own soil.>>>>>>

Ya know, even with my *as you say*, low level of education,
I'm pretty sure we fought our tragic CIVIL WAR right here
on our own soil. Seems like I also remember something they
call the American Revolution, as a war fought on (soon to be) American Soil.

BOYCOTT AMERICAN PRODUCTS>>>>>>>

Make sure you boycott our "made in the USA" DOLLARS too.

10-4, Loud and clear to Greybird, here in Mexico, the heard the same twist, with the same conclusions, and you did well in expressing the scenario as it is, as to how the 'rest' of the world looks upon the Act upon Iraq. >>>>>>>>>

Now that's REALLY good news...Hey, FOX, how 'bout CLOSING
your northern border immediately, you need to protect your
law breakers, drug lords, and people smugglers from these
*bad Americans*.
