Fox News Channel just announced that the aircfraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, will be coming into port at Pearl Harbor in a very short time from now.
5000+ US sailors will be lining the decks in full dress whites. It should be quite a breathtaking sight.

I thought I'd post this as a heads up since I didn't see it posted yet and Fox has a camera crew at Pearl.

Thanks!! We've watched any and all of the homecomings. Talk about pulling on your heartstrings.
BTW,.. night before last Jay Leno had ONLY TROOPS in his audience. Last night (Friday) he had service family members!!
Also, Star Searches Lance Bass (sp?) (the young man from INSYNC) stayed out in the audience instead of judging, and was talking to family members, wives and KIDS and let them send messages to their Husbands and dads!!
We really appreciate it when a show does this!
It is good to give a kudo's to the shows that are PRO Troops!!
Like FOX NEWS!!
:o)
FRegards, and thanks again for the heads up!

Thanks! Maybe you can tell me why they are wearing their whites already. I thought it was a little early in the year. My husband says it is because they were in such a warm climate. Just curious.

Thanks for the post! I have a relative on that ship. A pilot. His father was also a Navy pilot and is now in the Pentagon. Can anyone tell me: Do you need cable to see this? (I get UHF and VHF - when I turn on the tv and warm it up.)

Word has it that because of the tempo of operations many sailors went weeks without seeing daylight, hope they enjoy generous time ashore.
A handful of these great Americans won a lottery that rewarded them with a flight straight back to the mainland.

Whites are optional year round in southern California.

You're on this ship, aren't you?
To: Larry Lucido
how many ships protect the carrier? I only see 5 cruisers/frigates and 2 subs. Is anyone else concerned about the lack of protection to our carriers? Could a mass launch of cruise missles penetrate our carrier's defenses in say, a N Korean/Chinese conflict?

T H A N K S ! I cought this message just in time to turn on the news and see the salute of the USS Arizona. My son is on the Lincoln and my wife and I were very pleased to be able to see the shipping coming in. We have our ticktes and reservations for the trip to Everett, which will be a day to remember. I understand they are expecting over 15,000 people!
Hats off also to President Bush on this. I understand he is not attending the welcoming home (in Everett) because he does not want to distract attention away from the men.

Hats off also to President Bush on this. I understand he is not attending the welcoming home (in Everett) because he does not want to distract attention away from the men. Not only the attention, but Bush also said that he didn't want his entourage to slow down the ability for the men to disembark and see their families. A class act all the way.
Contrasted, of course, with Slick who kept LAX plugged up for 2 and a half hours for a hair cut.
