I didn't know "theater" had a different Southern spelling (I thought "theatre" was British). Are there any other words where the Southern spelling is different?

Flavour, honour, labour, colour, humour, neighbour, decentralisation, organisation, dramatisation, organise, politicise, recognise, emphasise, humanise, wont, dont, arent, cant, aint, caint, grey, cheque, catalogue, centre, meagre, theatre, enquire, ensure, enquiry, disc (not disk), sabre, programme, publick, decentralise, homogenise, to name a few. Southrons pretty much spelled the way the British and Canadians do before northern style publick education came to the South. You know the way the rest of the English speaking world spells.
