It's time for gun owners to disassociate ourselves from the extremists who argue that any attempt to sensibly regulate firearms takes us down the slippery slope toward confiscation. There is no threat to losing our right to own guns for sport. Uh, dude, you just made our point for us - you would deny us the right to self-defense with your attempts to "sensibly" regulate firearms, and instead just allow us to hunt deer. The 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting season...

Not to mention the bill that was floated a while back that would have banned shotguns larger than 26 gague or some such as ".50 caliber assault weapons".
