Amber did not talk to Laci on the 23rd."

That could be very true. Perhaps Amber spoke with Scott and there was a "Who-was-that-on-phone, Honey?" conversation....

>>Amber did not talk to Laci on the 23rd.<< [according to Papa Frey]

But the news report said Amber phoned the Peterson home on December 23 and Laci answered the phone.

Phone records can tell the police where a call originated from and whether it was completed (that is, the phone was answered.) But phone records cannot tell *who* answered the phone.

This information that Laci was the one who answered the phone could only come from one of two people because the third person who was involved is dead. So this information that Laci answered the phone comes from either Scott or Amber. I doubt that it came from Scott for obvious reasons so that leaves Amber.

Note above Papa Frey doesn't say that Amber did not place a phone call to the Peterson home. He only says that Amber did not "talk to Laci."

That would mean that Amber phoned the Peterson home, Laci picked up and said "Hello" and Amber either hung up or she remained silent while she hung on the line listening to Laci say hello over and again.

It was mere hours before Christmas Eve. There was every reason for Amber to logically suspect that the woman on Scott's phone could have been his visiting mother or a sister or a sister-in-law. According to Michelle Hart, Amber is a brazen gal so why wouldn't she have taken the chance and asked to speak to Scott?

IMO she didn't because she knew Scott was married.
