Judging from her posts, she comes across as a caricature of a conservative. If I had to guess which former Republican candidate for president she is associated with, I would pick either Buchanan or Keyes. Buchanan's antisemitism has doomed him. Keyes is no antisemite and is certainly a bright and fiery speaker. But he is rigid almost beyond comprehension and is thus wholly unelectable.

Successful politics is not about being rigid unless you're an authoritarian like Saddam Hussein and can enforce your political views at the point of a gun. Politics in the United States is a about flexibility and persuasion--even more so in the post-Clinton polarized world in which we live. No candidate for president can hope to win (and actually have a chance to meaningfully influence the course of important matters) unless that candidate shows an ability to be flexible.

As for jael, her comments evidence rigidity and scab-picking--just the sort of behavior you would expect from a DU troll pretending to be conservative and trying to discredit FR.

You sound like a liberal Democrat. Whatever happened to standing for what's RIGHT and VIRTUE being its own reward?

You have succumbed to the politics of compromise, which got us on the downward spiral we're on. People would rather shift to being WRONG so they can *win* instead of standing for RIGHT no matter what. I don't know what kind of *win* that is. It got us a "conservtive Republican" President who has named six sodomites to his staff, has done nothing to quell abortion, and now is bailing out on gun rights. That's what this "flexibility" is getting us.

And when you get someone who stands for what they believe in, without compromise, like Jael, you panty-waisted compromisers blow your fuses. How pathetic for a bunch of men to get beat up by a girl who has more guts than all of you put together. You can't refute her, so you must get her removed from the forum. No doubt I'm next on your list.
