Give me two choices: some a$$hole shooting at me with an AR-15 either modified to full auto or popping off rounds as fast as he can, or some a$$hole shooting at me with a Remington 700, a scope, and some skill.
I would much prefer the former as opposed to the latter.

That seems reasonable. But you'll have to tell the militaries and police agencies of the world about the folly of their ways in preferring assault rifles to arm the vast majority of their personell.

Poohbah, just for giggles some day, go attend a service rifle EIC (excellence in competition "Leg") match and see what a trained person can do with a AR-15 and peep sights. You might be absolutey shocked to see the scores from the 600 yard line.
