Excellent news, Devil!
What do you think the odds of the Rocha family filing a wrongful death suit and would it be worth it to them to do it now? I think I would file it, just as back-up.

They could do that, sure. But I think they'd only do it if they really thought he was getting that life insurance money, or if Laci's assets somehow (unjustly) ended up in his hands. Other than that, he wouldn't have the money to pay such a judgment anyway--so a suit would be a waste of time.
As for when (if they do it), I think all they'd really have to worry about is the statute of limitations. This might be one year from the date he did it (if he did it, ha ha), or it might be two years from that date. I'm sure some CA poster can tell us what it is in CA.
