Not necessarily a long wait for this high-profile case to come to trial. Westerfield, who lived in San Diego, was tried in a hurry...I suspect the prosecutors are stamping their feet to get this case to court -- and get their names in the papers, for that matter.

IIRC--it was Westerfield that pushed for the speedy trial in the hope that the prosecution wouldn't have their case ready.
