Potential heirs of Laci have the right to block any liens on property they jointly owned. California law does not allow one to profit from committing a murder. The Laci family members may be the rightful owners of half of that house.
In addition, I have not seen this mentioned but "murder for profit" is included in the special circumstances that could allow the death penalty.
This is big. It's not a stretch to prove that SP was going for savings accounts, trusts or sole ownership of the home. Life insurance is another aspect but maybe not a slam dunk, unless they prove he has planned on waiting the seven years to profit.
Jackie P says he has had a change in employment and doesn't need to haul stuff. She says he sold his vehicle and they are/were lending him a car. Combine that, his legendary golfing and his closing the warehouse in Modesto and I'd say it's a safe bet that he is unemployed.
