To: Aggie Mama
I wish you well with your family.
This is our first child. My wife had a tough pregancy (it would figure, since she is an ob-gyn resident). She had a torsed ovary 9 weeks into her pregnancy and ended with preeclampsia. Our daughter arrived a few days early, but both are now in good health, though all the while, I prayed more intensely than I have ever prayed before. And I have God to thank for my good fortune.

Preeclampsia is bad, bad, bad. I'm glad that your wife and daughter are fine now. This particular one for us has been filled with all kinds of medical problems--I picked up Fifth's Disease from my son and the baby was affected but managed to fight off the infection. Yesterday we found out that my SIL contracted tuberculosis from work. So now we sit and wait for the nice skin test to develop to see if our family has that.
My first two children were relatively easy (aside from terrible morning sickness), but all of the problems with this one have shown me how precious a healthy child is.
