I agree with you. It's very difficult to judge from media reports; we all know about the legendary accuracy and unbiasedness of the major media.
That said, I think Scott Peterson drew more than enough suspicion with his erratic (stupid?) moves -- such as selling the vehicle and trying to sell the house while the spotlight is shining directly on him.
Well, if I were charitable (or a defense expert witness), I would say that by divesting himself of those constant reminders of his missing and probably dead wife, he was attempting to preserve his own sanity. Now, OTOH, it was awful quick...
