I heard that there was going to be a movie..
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/search?m=any;o=score;s=sniper I don't know if you were aware that moose is going to write a book.. I'd like to know what he's going to do with the money.
Be sure to do a search for the new threads about him. He's being sued for endangering the lives of fellow officers, and the officer's union is upset about the book deal.

"When a fetus dies as the result of an assault, is it murder? States are grappling with the question."
From that article.

Dammit! I only heard about this less than a half-hour ago and posted it. Little did I know someone beat me to the punch again.
Oh, well.
I am sure FOX will be covering the news conference; will anyone be watching besides me?

No more cool night vision shots from Baghdad, so the media is going to go at this one full gusto.
I heard Geraldo already snuck out of camp, with a ticket to Modesto, until the guard on duty for the 4th Infantry led him back to his tent.
To: texasbluebell
Maybe they will parade him in handcuffs when they get him back to Modesto.

Why isn't anyone trying to understand what intense pressure Scott was under? He had just recently declared bankruptcy, had to join an expensive country club and had to drive all the way to Fresno to get a little!

But isn't it amazing that they arrested him BEFORE telling us it was Laci? No, I think they were worried that he might try to flee once the news broke. I think they did the right thing by arresting him first.

Michael Savage is himself a non-story.

I was just going to post about the concrete dust myself. GMTA
To: whadizit
The guy who subbed for him last night, Rusty Humphries, was quite good.
To: TLBSHOW
Oh, so Savage is just pouting.

I never cared for MS' schtick. Too bombastic. And whenever someone catches him in an inaccuracy, he calls them a name and hangs up on them. His show has deteriorated even further in that now all he seems to do is play recordings of himself on various MSNBC shows.

I listened to him for a while, and still do occasionally, but the man is a complete egomaniac. Doesn't he have any idea what a put off this is to most people?

The Modesto PD has done a good job on this case. While frustrating for people who want to know what evidence they have uncovered, they haven't leaked like a sieve, which ahs probably helped the case.
Too bad Chandra wasn't killed in Modesto instead of DC. Her parents might have had the satisfaction of the killer being arrested, too.
To: Bella_Bru
She was so beuatiful. If Peterson killed her, fry the asshole. Agreed, after dismembering the ba$tard in kind...
Or else give him the "Captain Kidd" treatment -- fit him with a pair of concrete overshoes and place him out in the Bay, then let nature take its course.
To: runningbear
I am on IV antibiotics and was getting a dose when the news broke. I had to sit there on the couch and wait to come on FR.

They could do that, sure. But I think they'd only do it if they really thought he was getting that life insurance money, or if Laci's assets somehow (unjustly) ended up in his hands. Other than that, he wouldn't have the money to pay such a judgment anyway--so a suit would be a waste of time.
As for when (if they do it), I think all they'd really have to worry about is the statute of limitations. This might be one year from the date he did it (if he did it, ha ha), or it might be two years from that date. I'm sure some CA poster can tell us what it is in CA.

I thought all small, skinny, pampered, white boys from wealthy families that went to prison ended up married? No?
To: BurbankKarl
Looks like they were just waiting for a body to put the last piece in the jigsaw.
I'd say they've got some forensic evidence on Scotty boy, but until they had a body, this was still technically a missing person case.
