How can one be liable for what another person's imagination can conjure up as an insult out of something you said?

Are we now required to metally revue and edit every utterance and cleanse it of everything that may not be politically correct?

This is being stretched farther every time, to the point where everyone should be catching on.

Suppose, instead of saying the WORDS, she "hummed" in cadence to the rhyme: "Mm Mm Mm Mm Mm Mm Mm" Would the woman still have gotten upset?
