Well, maybe we can drive these robots over to where Neil Armstrong planted the American flag. ;>)
Better yet, use a robot to plant the Flag on Mars, concurrent with a fake manned mission a la "Capricorn One." That way, everyone's happy -- even if they don't know it -- and Mars belongs to US.
