This deems you GUILTY of something even if you are not. The ONLY reason they want that database is to have a collection of criminals from which to chose from when a crime is committed.

I agree with you, and on a (possibly) related note: Have you ever noticed how often, when a person is arrested for federal crimes , especially involving firearms violations, the news articles always contain the line:

Child porn was found on so-and-so's computer

I'm serious. It's invariably there. This means , I believe , one of two things:

A. All people wanted for federal crimes are such scum bags they're bound to enjoy kiddie porn.

OR

B.FBI and DJ agents are sending illicit images to the hard drives of people they intend to arrest and charge, to make damn sure the jury convicts, just on general principles.

Gee, I wonder which is more likely.

The last case I can remember was last summer. Think the guy was arrested for tax evasion, the agents that arrested him confiscated his (legal) firearms and his computer, and -viola! "child pornography was found on_____ 's computer". But unfortunately, I no longer have the article.

I believe they are already if not framing people,at least adding 'icing to the cake' to make convictions easier to get.

"Hello Director, yes, I have checked the files and we are in luck, we do have a sample of Dr. Hatfill's DNA on file.?

"I should take a swab of it and report to where"?

Exactly. How in the world can you prove your innocence? You can't. You will now automatically be "guilty" until you can create different DNA.
