"The problems associated with Islam are fundamental ones that make it inherently incompatible with Western (Christian influenced) cultures like the one we enjoy here in the U.S."

Why were all the hijackers on 9/11 foreign nationals? If indeed the problem with Islam is such a fundamental one, why weren't they American Muslims?

Could it possibly be that they couldn't be trusted to carry out the attack?

ANY religion which demands FORCED conversions, death for leaving that religion, and taxes on all others is NOT peaceful,or suitable for civilized society. It does make perfect sense for a warrior cult.

Why were all the hijackers on 9/11 foreign nationals? If indeed the problem with Islam is such a fundamental one, why weren't they American Muslims?

Two reasons:

There is a segment of Muslims who genuinely do want to "live and let live". Another example of this can be found in Egypt, having a Christian and Muslim population living side by side with members of both religions doing their best to subdue the Muslim "radicals" who are merely following the Q'uran that the more passive Muslims don't. This is quite common in countries with Muslim populations. However, there is always a significant number of dedicated Muslims that live amongst the more passive variety. It is futile to make a distinction as far as rendering an opinion on the religion of Islam because there is no way to effectively discourage Muslims from becoming the more radical type--the more they learn of the Q'uran, the more likely they are to be radical. Therefore, rather than encouraging people to be 'good' Muslims, we should discourage Islam altogether.

The second reason we don't see more American Muslims misbehaving (yet) is because they don't have the numbers they need to accomplish the task of a takeover of our government. As you correctly stated above, the Q'uran does not teach forced conversion (although this has been practiced by Muslims in the past, prompting the Catholic response during the Great Crusades, for instance). However, what it does teach is that all Muslims residing in a country with a non-Muslim government should not rest until that government is transformed into a Muslim one--forced Islamic rule (Surahs 9:33; 48:28; 61:9). This goal cannot be achieved if an insufficient number of Muslims here in America start causing a backlash in public opinion before they are powerful enough to withstand it. OBL and his followers, OTH, care more about the short term state of Saudi Arabia than the long term state of the US, and were hoping to teach the 'great satan' a lesson in meddling in Muslim countries. The lack of criticism of Muslim terrorists by Islamic leaders here in the US shows their sensitivity to this quandary--namely, sticking up for their Muslim brethren overseas while carefully plodding on with their mission of Western rule here in the US.
