It could be a good idea to read a copy of Ayn Rand's biography. She wasn't so wonderful. She had good ideas about individualism, but it spilled over into thinking she had the right to sleep with her best-friend's husband, while Rand's husband and the friend waited in the living room!

I loved the movie Fountain Head (with Gary Cooper) and read Atlas Shrugged etc. But this biography made me realize that "selfishness" (Ayn Rand's theme- the preservation of the self) is not all it's cracked up to be.

Ayn Rand is the reason my political beliefs are what they are.....I read "We The Living" when I was 16 and never looked back.

Reading Anthem in itself turned me off from Rand.

She has some very dangerous ideas that are in NO WAY conservative.

Objectivism is not a conservative philosophy, but an immoral, egotistical, self-centered one.
