I stand for Charles Heston. The right to keep and bear arms, as an individial right and not a collective one, shall not be infringed. And as long as there are those like myself, who strongly believe in individual freedom, (and not feel we have a duty to serve others in society), and the right to protect ourselves from a tyranny government and invasion of enemies, I'll fight to the very death for this!
Go kick some serious butte, Mr. Heston!

TO ALL:
Here's an update I just received about Friday's Vigil...
"No you do not have to call.
Just show up anytime between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
You may call if you like, simply to let us know about what time to expect you.
Don't forget to bring your flags, banners, signs saying "We Love Charlton Heston"
"We Like Ben Hur" "Yeah Moses" "Heston: WWII Veteran" "Heston: Civil Rights Activist" " Heston: Friend of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." etc,
If you represent an organization, bring your banners.
Indeed, spread the word. Tell everyone to call the talk shows and remind the listeners to attend...."

Oi RonDog! I am no fan of Charlton Heston, but I am a bigtime admirer of Ted Hayes, who
is, and after recycling a gazillion Köstritzer Schwarzbier bottles (don't ask) I was able to get to the tail end of the rally and meet the man in the flesh! I made up a couple of shirts for him, the 2nd Amendment one and one that I'd seen on a truck sticker (an omen?) that said CHARLTON HESTON IS MY PRESIDENT. (I need not agree with everything I print on a shirt any more than I need agree with everything I print in a book or magazine.) I made them in different sizes because I had no idea what size Ted Hayes wears, so I gave him both the XL and the XXL, and he said he'd give the XXL to Heston himself:
I've had doubts about Heston's ethnic comments but I may be mistaken. The only way to be sure what he meant by them would be to ask him himself, objectively, as in, "What did you mean by (blah blah)", as opposed to asking "Do you dislike this or that group" (which is what I had always thought). Perhaps when The Man, Hayes, gives him the shirt I'll get a chance to ask him in person.
Kudos to Free Republic for giving me the chance to meet black people like myself with views that challenge media stereotypes of how we ought to think.
Cheers, dog
