Yes, it is. I was depressed when I heard McDaffey's predictions and had a long talk with my husband that really lifted me up. I hope the old general is glad he was wrong but he was trying to hurt Rummy and Franks by saying it.

For the first 14 years of my life my Father was in the USAF, serving on SAC bases. At one time he spent 13 months in Korea away from us. I know now how he longed for home, but he served. When I tear at the Star Spangled Banner it is because I know some of the cost of each stripe, each star. And I thank God I did not have to experience the full cost.

Those that did not survive this war leave loving families and friends, but more important, they leave them free. And there they all stand now, between us and the Evil that would destroy our way of life. And they do not even ask us why we think that we deserve their sacrifice.

I am humbled.
