That will must continue to maintain the technological edge.

Every dictator took notice and everyone right now has a task force trying to determine how to minimize or counter our capabilities.

We must always maintain the ability to take command of and control airspace.

Likewise, we must both protect our ability to see in space and direct JDAM's as well as maker sure we have the ability to blind our oponents there.

Our ability to maintain a lethality is critical. China has over 1 billion people. The US has 278 million. We can never be placed in a position of a war of attrition. For the 130 US soldiers killed in this war, we killed in turn at least 5,000-10,000 and captured another 7000. That lethality is a 50 to 1 ratio. And is critical to being able to fight ground wars.

Finally we can never become so enamored with technology that we forget to build in redundancy for when things go wrong.

The decapitation strikes on Iraq's regime were facinating. But I'm reminded of another decapitation strike. 9/11 was intended to be that, the financial center, the pentagon and the whitehouse were all targeted in a surprise attack. We need to take that warning seriously.
