This is front page in our local paper....no mention of the other MIA's....the way the article reads is that he may have been found earlier but were waiting for DNA to confirm.

Here's another "news" snippet from that article:

Perhaps the most chilling moment for the Marines came the next day, April 2.

Before the war began, U.S. planners pinpointed three moments they thought Hussein might resort to weapons of mass destruction: when U.S. forces first crossed the border from Kuwait, when they arrived at Nasiriyah to ford the Euphrates River, and -- most likely -- when they began attacking the Republican Guard and threatening the capital.

That day, military intelligence intercepted a transmission from Baghdad to a senior Iraqi commander believed to have control over chemical weapons. The entire transmission consisted of just one word: "Blood."

Go back to #1297 for the link.

Fox hosts just got "Sterned" by a guy faking to be father of a rescued POW. He talked of how happy they were, were worried, were having brkfst, a major came to the door to tell them. "From what we understand they survived by telling stories of Howard Stern". Lower than low.

Intersting, also that the e-mail adresses of those who sent them are presumably known.

One of the unintended benefits of this war should be that the American people finally learn that the UN Charter is not the US Constitution (but more like it's evil, un-American twin). Let the American people discover that many of their elected leaders, NGOs and news people have been betraying America to those who want us weakened...for years.

Does that mean Fonda is French? Explains a lot, doesn't it?

Ha. You figured out something about her! Her first husband was French, wasn't he? Roger Vadim. That explains her!

I have thought that France would be a good place to vacation, except they have French attitudes there. I'll go to Ireland instead.

My sister, her husband & another couple did exactly that. They had planned their vacation to the UK and France. They cancelled the France segment (she said she wasn't about to spend a DIME in France) & went to Ireland instead. They loved it.

That is chilling. I was listening earlier to Jennifer Eccleston report on the news of the day in Baghdad. She reported that there are more cars on the road in Baghdad and that, interestingly, yesterday some looters came across another stack of munitions and instead of looting them, reported the find to an Iraqi policeman who relayed the news to the troops. Good looters! Ha!

Sad to report that our local MIA Marine, Pvt Jonathan Lee Gifford, Decatur, Il was confirmed dead at 11pm Fri...He was last seen near An Nasiriyah March 23rd when his unit was ambushed securing bridges...other members are still missing.

My prayers for his family. If there is a service for Pvt. Gifford, I hope there's a freeper presence for this brave man who gave his life in service to his country.

My daughter was married this past January and she and her husband went to Ireland for their honeymoon. They absolutely loved it. She said that everywhere they went they were treated special because they were newlyweds. (average Irishmen bought them drinks) They got to stay at a cool castle and they were upgraded to the tower suite. Amazing photos. I highly recommend Ireland.

I saw that. Eric handled it well. I didn't get it at first but Eric caught on right away. Stern fans are real creeps.

Thanks the for the link. I did know that a Marine commander had been relieved of duty, but not who or why as both CENTCOM and Pentagon officials told the extremely curious reporters, basically, "it's none of your business". Leave it to the WP to dig up the details. Good story - though I do appreciate our military leaders putting their troops ahead of the nosey reporters. (^;
