"he wanted me to stand about 2000 meters away and hold a watermelon." No, Eaker, the watermelon goes on your head.
The white glove was to be able to see you and figure out where your head was !

"You really need the tiny .22 round in there" You're right, of course.
I don't own a .22, but I need to get a round to compare.

Can I still buy an AR-15? That's what I was trained on (M-16 variant of course), that's what I'd like to keep with me.

WP:
"The president supports the current law, and he supports reauthorization of the current law," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told Knight Ridder. alwaysconservative:This article is a hack job intended to undermine the President's popularity with his own party. "They" can't undermine him with the general public, so they try to turn his own supporters against him. How sleazy (and unfortunately, judging from these posts, effective)!
I've seen plenty of liberal media hack jobs but I must ask how this article is a hack job? This article contains a direct quote from WH spokeman Scott McClellan.

"We won't ask the obvious question........" Ya know, I'm beginning to wonder about gunner, especially after he made that comment today about "liking Dix".
If you noticed, I moved over to the other side of the couch.

Well, I've got to put mine to bed, guys.
I'm going to run up to Cleburn in the morning BY MYSELF.
I'll get a report for you with some pics, I hope.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan? NOT Ari Fleischer for something this big? When? Before or AFTER the President authorized Ted Olson to file those two pro-second-amendment briefs? Why now? Why would he be "stupid" enough to spend his political capital on this NOW, when our use of military force brought him such gains? It just doesn't add up, in my opinion. This is the President who pulled us OUT of Kyoto, out of the ICC, and has maintained the course on tax cuts. The left DESPISES him, and will stop at nothing to discredit him even with his own followers. . .

I understand that some won't vote for GWB because of this, and I can understand that. There always neeeds to be a line in the sand.
However, STAYING HOME is the WORST DECISION possible.
Whatever happens, PLEASE go to the polls and vote. If you must, leave the president spot blank or vote for someone besides W, but please do not punish the rest of the candidates there who ARE pro-2a, and had nothing to do with this.
The Congress, Senate, State Rep, State Senate, and County and local seats are just as important as the other seats and is the basis of the farm club. If we do not have a solid farm club, we will NOT have a pool of talent to choose from.

There are a number of ways of "supporting" the assualt weapons ban that are actually assuring its expiration in September of 2004. Since the extension has to pass both the house and the Senate mjorities are needed in both places for this to go through. Should Bush "support" the continuation of the assualt weapons ban but make it clear to every House member that he is not going to twist any arms whatsoever to get this through we actually get the sunsetting of the ban and Bush gets to say he supported the continuation of said ban thus the Democrats get no campaign issue to run on.

Precisely. The inevitable Dem mudgobbing over this will be MUCH easier to survive if spread over the entire congress than if aimed at ONE man, the President. Sometimes, having a majority in congress means having your OWN "human shields".
We should not forget, however, that all it would take to totally lose at this point would be one semiauto-armed lunatic going sideways in Summer '04. That's your one wild card.
Like I said, CFR would NOT have happened, having been buried by Congress, if not for Enron. Events can drive legislation.
