Texas has no state INCOME TAX. That's why property taxes are so high. If you include property taxes as well as state and local income taxes I would say NY taxpayers are much worse off.

I know Texas has no state incone tax. I was merely asking if PROPERTY taxes are at a uniformly high rate for single family homes throughout Texas, or are some areas disproportionately higher than other areas, such as in NY.
