The 1990s were dominated by people comfortably enscounced in the gilded cage of their self-delusions. This is why the most fascinating political story is the self-immolation of the antiwar left. You'd figure that they'd shut up, but, as the Marines used to say, there's always some sonofabitch who doesn't get the word.
I always believed pop culture is a reflection of our interior lives. This is why we're so cool and the lefties are the "uuuhhhh" in the old 'Mystery Date' commerical.
