This country is overflowing with Ammo, Guns, RPGs and all kinds of crap. Not the mention all the paid mercenaries and terrorist training camps. Why are people poor? Why are they living in mud huts in slums???
These items were not accessible to the ordinary people, if you are suggesting why there wasn't a looting of the arms and an uprising. These caches were heavily guarded until the Coalition of the Willing arrived to save the day.
Bringing up Dr.Bob again, last week he showed a warehouse in the south that was filled with weapons AND stocked with lots and lots of food. He said the village around, the people were malnourished. Yet in the military barracks was stockpiled all of this food from the "food for oil" program. It had been taken and saved for the military. Not the regular citizens it was meant for.
This is the very thing those on the right have said for years and were mocked.
You have seen the palaces, right? Built with the oil money that the citizens reaped no profit from.

I switched over to the Early Show on CBS this morning (only to see the woman bumped off SURVIVOR last night, I swear!) and saw a commercial for the CBS Evening News, boasting than Dan Rather will be reporting live from Baghdad.
The only danger Dim Dan is in is if the Iraqis saw his kneepad interview with Hussein - then they might want to string him up by his wrinkled old turkey neck.

Hannity reporting that, after the flap over US flag being draped over Saddam's statue the other day, the military brass has banned the displaying of the flag on buildings, statues and other structures in Iraq.

But isn't it called the Red Crescent Rolls over there? Yeah, that's what I thought also. But Beeb Dweeb said Red Cross. It was the Red Cross that had to abandon its convoy into Baghdad because it came under heavy fire and one of the workers was shot.

The "Big Lie". That was a Goebbels propaganda trick. Doubt if he invented it. Then there's the 'Grain of Truth' technique. If I say the worst opposite of my opponent people will think there must be a grain of truth in it. Also known as "Where There's Smoke there Must Be Fire."

"Hannity reporting that, after the flap over US flag being draped over Saddam's statue the other day, the military brass has banned the displaying of the flag on buildings, statues and other structures in Iraq. There was an incident early on when a young marine planted a US flag and got called out for it. DoD had to explain the next day saying it was just "youthfull exhuberance" and that it wouldn't happen again. I cringed as I watched the marine put the flag over saddams head the other day because I knew it would cause some flack.

Syria.......is a real problem.
I just heard that the UN ambassador Al-Douhri is flying to Syria. Why do I have a feeling we will see a Iraqi government in exile based there.

It's not as simple as you would portray. I am not knowlegeable about the history of the area to answer your questions but your rant is rather ill informed since you obviously don't know the answers to your questions.

g'day everybody! Thanks for posting that. I went to the site and read the entire article. Quite interesting. It's almost as though we are trying to tick off Hussein and bring him out. All this talk of rifling through his belongings and such. He can't possibly stand it, can he? Being the freak that he is!

Didn't realize he was David Bloom's photographer. My guess is he felt pure patriotism and a wish to protect those men with whom he has been embedded all this time.
He certainly deserves a VERY important prize for his reporting and photos.

I think that a lot of this loot that we're interested will come back for a few thousand dinars. Or just a few dinners.

There really is no way to excuse, accept, or even understand what CNN did to the people of Iraq. In whose name did they perpetrate that crime against humanity?
