'The reporter said the villagers were using what they called "missile water" for everyday use.....they were using the heavy water the site produced.....'

Can you enlighten me on the significance of this? I don't know much about heavy water, except that it's used in nuclear programs somehow.

Heavy water -- a water molecule with an extra neutron -- is harmless in itself, but it is used to slow down nuclear reactions, necessary for producing atomic bombs.
